Wow.
I have an Instant Pot (which I love).
Its design is such that the lid "screws" onto the base, and once it comes up to pressure (a little button pops up), there's no way to open it. I doubt it could do what the one in this story did.
My mother used a pressure cooker a lot.
I remember one time it blew the lid up and it broke through the ceiling.
It could make a mess.
My grandmother had her pressure cooker explode on her. She suffered terrible burns.
