The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

While these non-citizens are here voting, they should riot, shoplift and get some vaccines.

This could be a real nice bump to tourism.

There’s always the good ole slogan that the Founding Fathers of the USA used to rally around: “no taxation without representation.”

          Fair enough, I suppose.

In what other countries can non-citizens vote? I'll wait.

@george-k many states in the US allowed permanent residents to vote in the 19th and early 20th century.

Arkansas was the last one to end the practice in 1926.

Not "national elections," but you don't have to look far to find places that allow non-citizens to vote in "local elections", e.g., https://www.theepochtimes.com/noncitizens-can-vote-in-local-elections-in-2-vermont-cities-after-legislature-overturns-governors-vetoes_3873957.html

British Commonwealth and Irish citizens who are resident in Britain can vote in UK elections.

                I was only joking

Which is what this editorial is calling for:

"What’s more, allowing noncitizens to vote in federal, state and municipal elections would help revitalize American democracy at a time when enthusiasm and trust are lacking. While 2020 was considered a high-turnout election, only about 65 percent of eligible voters cast ballots. Compare that to Germany, where turnout was 76 percent in the last general election."

We don't have any national elections in this country.
