Australia: using the military to enforce COVID-19 lockdowns

Australia's Sydney posts record daily rise in COVID-19 cases, seeks military help
https://reut.rs/3zRoctVAustralian city police departments have asked for military personnel to assist with implementing COVID-19 lockdowns.
I am OK with the military helping out with operating vaccination mega sites and provide surge capacities to hospitalize COVID-19 patients with severe symptoms, but I very much hope not to have military personnel roaming the streets to enforce masking and travel restriction rules.
The Australians are sort of screwed in that they still don’t have enough vaccine supplies. But for us in the USA, we have more than enough vaccines and can totally avoid that fate, we are starring down at vaccine doses expiring without having enough Americans willing to be inoculated — people just need to get vaccinated.

people just need to get vaccinated.
But we flattened the curve.
Mission accomplished, forget it, move on.
