MFR had site pain too. Her injection site was red for two or three weeks.

I'm getting it next month. Whatever pain the shot might bring is better than shingles.

        Shingles is the suxxors.

First time was worse, much worse, than the 2nd (which was about 2 years ago).

@mik Oh-h-h, yeah. I've had shingles. Life as you know it ceases until it runs its course.

I'd get ten shots before I'd risk getting it again, which thank god is not possible.

          Don't skip that shot!

Wait, what? My doc that I dragged myself to for shingles told me I couldn't get it a second time. What's up with that???

@catseye3 I was talking about my experiences with shingles. First bout was worse.

Also, for Shingrix, it's a two time inoculation.

Sorry, still confused and apparently not firing on all cylinders. You had two shingles attacks, you said? My doc said once you get it, you can't get it again. She was wrong?

                      https://www.healthline.com/health/shingles-recurrence#statistics

Data about how often shingles recurs is limited. A 2011Trusted Source study in Minnesota over seven years found that between 5.7 and 6.2 percent of shingles people got shingles a second time.

In general, the researchTrusted Source suggests that your risk of getting shingles a second time is about the same as the risk you had of getting shingles the first time.

The amount of time between the first case of shingles and a recurrence has not been well-researched. In the study from 2011, the recurrence occurred from 96 days to 10 years after the initial shingles outbreak, but this study covered only a 12-year period.

My first encounter was in early 1977.

Most recent was about 3 years ago.

                      https://www.insider.com/can-you-get-shingles-more-than-once

A study published in 2011 in the Mayo Clinic Proceedings found that among more than 1600 shingles patients, about 5% experienced a second outbreak. It is possible to have a third outbreak of shingles, but this happens very rarely.

Keep in mind that if you've already had shingles once, you can't get infected again from someone with shingles or chickenpox. The only way that you can have multiple bouts of shingles is through the reactivation of the dormant virus in your own body.

What's 'very rarely'? If a second bout happens with five percent of the people, 'very rarely' is what, in the minus column???

I had shingles about 35 years ago

Last year my doctor told me to get the vaccine, I haven't gotten around to it yet

But he said it can happen again

I had chicken pox around 5 years ago. Does that mean I SHOULD have the vaccine or shouldn’t? I know there’s something weird about Adult Chicken Pox and Shingles…

Well, this was an interesting experience...

About 8 hours after the injection, I had overwhelming fatigue. I fell asleep at my desk and slept for about two hours - a two hour nap in the early evening is never a good thing.

When I woke up, I had generalized myalgias, and shaking chills. No fever, just chills.

I went to bed at about 10, and of course, couldn't sleep. The chills eventually stopped, and I tossed and turned in the spare bedroom, so as to not disturb Mrs. K. Watched some TV, and finally was able to fall asleep at about 1 AM. Couldn't really sleep on my left side because of pain at the injection site. It's still sore this AM, but a bit better.

                                  What Your Sleep Position Says

                                  About Your Personality?

                                  https://www.nectarsleep.com/p/sleep-positions/

Believe it or not your sleep position can say a lot about your personality. It’s not surprising when you think about the fact that the average human spends a third of their life sleeping. While you might not be able to change your personality, what you can change is how you support your sleep position with the right pillow.

When it comes to sleep positions, the one you tend to favor at night says a lot more about you than you may realize. The way we choose to sleep at night is an intimate question of what we find comfortable and what is comforting to us. The way in which we snooze is something that we do while we are unconscious, making it an honest expression of our innermost selves.

For example, those who rest in the shooting star position tend to be trusting and good communicators. They are open to others and let their guard down easily. They are generally very amiable, likeable people. On the other hand, those who sleep in the baby position, tend to be a bit more reserved and cautious when it comes to new people. Their exterior is tough but it’s only to shelter their kind, sensitive, and cuddly interiors.

There are lots of articles out there claiming certain sleeping positions are better than others but truthfully, if you are suffering from lack of sleep, any position that you find comfortable and that helps you catch those much-needed zzz’s is better than not sleeping at all. We’ve researched some frequently asked questions about sleep positions in order to assist you even further on your quest to beautiful, restful, sleep.

And, of course, looking at psychological analysis and implications from your sleeping position at a site that sells mattresses is totally credible, LOL.

I used to be a stomach sleeper, but I can't turn my head far enough to avoid suffocation - fucking arthritis.
