Shingles Vaccine 0wie!

I've never thought "pain at the injection site" as being a big problem with vaccines.
Having had my doc yell at me for years, and having had shingles twice, I finally went to Walgreens to get a shot of Shingrix.
The injection didn't hurt any more than any other, but now, about 6 hours later, that deltoid is SORE. Sore to the point that I don't want to lie on that side.
Hopefully, it'll get better before it's bedtime - I'm a side-sleeper.

Uncle Joe! You had better take a look at this! George said something not very good about vaccines. While we can’t really prove the accuracy of his statement, it certainly is contradictory to the TRUTH that vaccines are good, so the post needs to be removed and George needs to be sanctioned!

First time was worse, much worse, than the 2nd (which was about 2 years ago).

@catseye3 I was talking about my experiences with shingles. First bout was worse.
Also, for Shingrix, it's a two time inoculation.

Sorry, still confused and apparently not firing on all cylinders. You had two shingles attacks, you said? My doc said once you get it, you can't get it again. She was wrong?

Data about how often shingles recurs is limited. A 2011Trusted Source study in Minnesota over seven years found that between 5.7 and 6.2 percent of shingles people got shingles a second time.
In general, the researchTrusted Source suggests that your risk of getting shingles a second time is about the same as the risk you had of getting shingles the first time.
The amount of time between the first case of shingles and a recurrence has not been well-researched. In the study from 2011, the recurrence occurred from 96 days to 10 years after the initial shingles outbreak, but this study covered only a 12-year period.
My first encounter was in early 1977.

A study published in 2011 in the Mayo Clinic Proceedings found that among more than 1600 shingles patients, about 5% experienced a second outbreak. It is possible to have a third outbreak of shingles, but this happens very rarely.
Keep in mind that if you've already had shingles once, you can't get infected again from someone with shingles or chickenpox. The only way that you can have multiple bouts of shingles is through the reactivation of the dormant virus in your own body.

What's 'very rarely'? If a second bout happens with five percent of the people, 'very rarely' is what, in the minus column???

I had chicken pox around 5 years ago. Does that mean I SHOULD have the vaccine or shouldn’t? I know there’s something weird about Adult Chicken Pox and Shingles…

Well, this was an interesting experience...
About 8 hours after the injection, I had overwhelming fatigue. I fell asleep at my desk and slept for about two hours - a two hour nap in the early evening is never a good thing.
When I woke up, I had generalized myalgias, and shaking chills. No fever, just chills.
I went to bed at about 10, and of course, couldn't sleep. The chills eventually stopped, and I tossed and turned in the spare bedroom, so as to not disturb Mrs. K. Watched some TV, and finally was able to fall asleep at about 1 AM. Couldn't really sleep on my left side because of pain at the injection site. It's still sore this AM, but a bit better.
