Ol' Mr. COVID is ramping up around here again. I assume it's Delta, since a large percentage of patients coming through the ED have been vaccinated.
Talked with the coroner this morning...Again, a good many of these patients are from the nursing homes. The nursing homes in this parish were all allocated Moderna.
Things that make you go hmmm...

Classic COVID symptoms for the sicker ones, head cold/sinusitis symptoms for a lot of the less ill. There have been around 100 confirmed new cases in the last 10-12 days within the parish. I don't know what the doc meant by a large percentage, but the sicker patients (as I understand it)have been typically nursing home patients and those guys have pretty much been vaccinated.
Hospital currently has three patients, but you're talking small, rural hospital... Two in ICU and one on the floor. Don't know the number of patients that have been transferred.
