… because he’s too stupid to do so, according to former national security adviser John Bolton.

    https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/563407-bolton-trump-lacked-enough-advance-thinking-for-a-coup

“The idea of Trump staging a coup does give him too much credit,” Bolton said. “That requires advance thinking, planning, strategizing, building up support, and I just don’t think he’s capable of that.”

“What he was capable of was on a daily basis doing something more and more outrageous than he had done the day before, all to the same end of staying in power. But the notion that Trump could have orchestrated a coup does give him too much credit,” he added.

I made that same point in response to the hand wringing from the left about Trump refusing to leave office if he lost the election. I didn't put it that way - I only said it would be practically impossible for him to organize a coup. But the concern that he might, was taken seriously by TDS sufferers at the time. And then they got the catharsis of January 6. The coup.

If he'd got encouragement to stay from anybody who wasn't a craven imbecile, what do you think would have happened?

          I know, I know it's hypothetical. Still....

          I was only joking

OTOH, maybe the Biden Administration is sharp as a tack. They've given Facebook the definition for misinformation and Facebook has decided to do the bidding of the White House.

I think he was further away from a plausible coup attempt than "encouragement from anybody who wasn't a craven imbecile". Whatever that means.

There was a thing called the Free Speech Movement

It looked kin of like progressives

                  It was flawed

I think people get them confused

Anyone who would use a comment from John Bolton to support a smear of Trump is too stupid to matter.
