Holy hell, what a great documentary.

Ostensibly it's about a weird murder trial in Durham, NC. And sure you get to have an insider's look at attorney/client discussions, what the whispers in the courtroom are all about etc. But it's not your typical documentary and it isn't fun or easy watching. It's not popcorn television.

It's worth it, though. The videographers tell the story just as much as anything else. They recorded an assload of footage for the documentary. So what they chose to leave in is all significant. They're banking on the fact that you're paying attention.

Everyone becomes a character in the story: the attorneys, the relatives, everybody. I think the same production crew could have made a documentary out of your local 7-eleven and still make something just as compelling. The trial is almost incidental.

    Please love yourself.

Best true crime doc I’ve ever seen. Also one of the only ones where the truth is unknown and I come down on the side of not guilty. My money is on the owl theory.

      Education is extremely important.

        😄 Seriously?

I don't know where I land, other than the original verdict should have been not guilty. There were way too many problems in the prosecution's case. As to whether or not he actually killed her I have no idea.

        Please love yourself.
