Wonder if NYC will do a ranked primary again?

" Will De Blasio be eeplaced by a cop or a vigilante?"
Adams struggled in Manhattan but the other boroughs were going for him in big numbers. I think how he addresses their needs is what matters.
Manhattan just has to suck it up, maybe they don’t have the pulse of the people.

“On the same day that Adams' projected victory was announced, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo declared gun violence a statewide "disaster emergency." To date, New York City has seen 765 shootings in the city, compared to 555 shootings during the same time last year, CBS New York reported. “

We shouldn’t compare this year’s numbers to last year. They should be compared to 2019…

This seems like old news to me?
I haven't followed any interim drama, but I remember seeing the initial results and figuring it was too much of a lead to move during the ranked choice rounds.
As for ranked choice voting, I like it in theory in a crowded field. But I think it will ultimately be unpopular. It will mostly not change anything except perhaps add delays, and if/when it does change a result it will be seriously controversial.

Where I think ranked choice voting really matters is in the event of a statistical tie. I mean when one candidate beats another by a smaller margin than the expected error rate of the system as a whole.
When you have two candidates that are effectively tied (or minuscule # of votes apart), then if their second choice numbers are dramatically different it seems like a valid tiebreaker. Moreso than the vagaries of chance.
