Fans who are hoping to attend Bruce Springsteen’s upcoming theatre shows in New York may be turned away if they’ve had the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine.
Anyone keen to attend the Boss’s comeback shows on Broadway will be required to show proof they’ve received the full coronavirus vaccination before being able to enter the theatre.
However, with the AstraZeneca vaccine not yet approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) anyone who’s had that one and wants to attend is going to be disappointed.
Springsteen is returning to the stage for a limited run of performances at Jujamcyn’s St. James Theatre, kicking off June 26, with additional performances taking place through September 4.
In a FAQ dedicated to the Springsteen on Broadway show, it states guests ‘will need to be fully vaccinated with an FDA-approved vaccine in order to attend and must show proof of vaccination at their time of entry into the theatre with their valid ticket’.
It went on to state ‘fully vaccinated’ meant guests can attend at least 14 days after their second dose of the Pfizer-BioNtech or Moderna Covid-19 vaccine, or at least 14 days after their single dose of Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen jab.
The AstraZeneca jab, which is yet to be cleared by the FDA with the organisation requesting that it be shown results from a large-scale trial, was not on the list.

J&J has 66% efficacy. A single shot of AZ is 76%. Pfizer and Moderna are close to 91% after 1st dose.
Dumbasses.

Nobody here got that vaccine since it wasn't approved.
So some tourists won't be able to go?

Ok, but why set the bar at 2 doses for Pfizer and Moderna when a single dose of either is more effective than the J&J?
-
For that matter, so is actually having had the disease…

J&J was supposed to be the vaccine. Single dose, common storage and transportation requirements, effective. Twice the amount of people vaccinated with the same amount if vaccine.
It just wasn't effective enough, in hindsight. But...60%-70% beats the sugar out of nothing.

60%-70% IS great. Most of our other vaccines that have helped stamp out other diseases aren’t as effective. It’s just that the Moderna and Pfizer efficacy is astounding. I’m just pointing towards the hypocrisy.
