We are packed. We have places to go in Milwaukee.
The wind is still carrying everything south. I heard that the local fire department is overwhelmed and have no ability to extinguish the fire. No foam or not enough foam. Well, isn't that just a load of fucking bullshit?I think some heads are going to roll over this. They had better.

That same black smoke seems to be coming from everywhere.
It must be the construction material, would they have a chemical that causes that smoke be so evenly distributed?

There is a lot of grease in that building. They are the largest producer of industrial lubricants in the USA.
They stopped pouring water on it for fear that the run-off will hit the Rock River 300 meters away. The Rock empties into the Mississippi River.

It will be burning for several days.
I am thinking that we need to high tail it out of here for the night and see what the winds do overnight.
Ugh.

Glad you're OK, Mark - hopefully none of that crap reaches your house.
I really hope we didn't insure that place.

We are still here. The wind has never stopped blowing this crap away from us. There by the luck of the universe goes another, and all that.
It looks like they will have this out soon. If it is still smoldering and the wind shifts we have our bug-out bags at the ready.

Day 2
The white smoke isn't as scary as the black smoke.

The volume of smoke is not as scary. I bet the day 2 smoke is still not very "environmentally friendly".
