Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

It brings up a question - outside of classified data, what part of lawmakers' communication should not be subject to review?

Interesting question. Politics is a nasty business, where deals are cut all the time. Sunshine is the best disinfectant, but for politics to work, requires a bit of shade.

            Yeah...

The floor speech comes after McConnell, Senate Finance Committee ranking member Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) and Senate Judiciary Committee ranking member Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) sent a letter to the DOJ and the FBI urging them to investigate the disclosure and prosecute whoever was behind it.

The important word is "urging." What power does McConnell really have, other than putting these comments into the public record where they will die an obscure death.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.
