I think its kind of a short goodbye.
I guess it could be short for 'ta-ra', which means goodbye. Ta-ta is also good-bye.

It's very good. There's an arc that spans all 5 seasons you can watch on HULU. But, every season is pretty stand-alone with a "hey wait until we tell you next year!" ending. Exceptionally "procedural."
If you have a hard time with the accent, I recommend turning on the subtitles.

I've just watched Series 1, Episode 1, and I think I may be hooked.
I managed to struggle through without subtitles, although that Irish bloke has a bit of a brogue.
