The Forum VI Guitar
-
If anyone is interested in purchasing a sweet guitar (ahem! jon) the Larrivee forum has spec'ed out a limited guitar run and the family has agreed to do the build.
An LS (or LSV if you prefer a Venetian cutaway) body with a 12 fret neck/body join and Larrivee's Hybrid, scalloped bracing usually reserved for the 40 series.
It will be made from all solid wood with American Walnut back and sides and either Sitka Spruce or Italian Spruce for the top.
The guitar will not have any bling to speak of save a Roman Numeral VI inlay at the 12th fret and a solid walnut rosette to match the back and sides. It will be a fully solid wood bound body and neck possibly using flame maple for the binding. It is going to be a sweet guitar.
They have enough wood to produce 20 guitars. They will be numbered and the interior label will be hand signed by Jean Larrivee.
Here is an example of the wood that will be used on the back and sides.
We have tried to keep the cost as low as possible. We will know the price by the end of the week.
If anyone is interested in obtaining one of these guitars, you will probably have to join the discussion on the Larrivee Forum.
