Goofy Characters

I subscribe to a mailing list for mac users. For some reason, emails from this list, and ONLY this list have characters that are replaced by symbols, etc.

For example, in this message, the apostrophe is replaced:

I had to buy another Shuffle after washing my original one. The washed =
one still works - kind of - but is unreliable. I=E2=80=99ve hand picked =
every song on there over the years and thought I could copy everything =
from old to new via iTunes.

But I can=E2=80=99t.

I created a playlist of all the songs on Old Shuffle, but that playlist =
shows up on the shuffle, not in iTunes.

If i right-click on songs on Old Shuffle, there is a =E2=80=9Csend to =
device=E2=80=9D option, and New Shuffle is listed - but nothing happens.

If I select =E2=80=9CCopy=E2=80=9D, there is no paste option.

Dragging doesn=E2=80=99t work either.

I=E2=80=99ve googled. All the songs ARE in my iTunes, but they are just =
a fraction of my collection so I=E2=80=99d hate to have to manually pull =
them over again.

The only other thing I can think of that I haven=E2=80=99t tried yet, is =
to try and use Old Shuffle to create a brand new library and then sync =
the New one to it. (both Shuffles are setup to manually manage).

Any ideas as to what's causing that?

I think this is because the text is encoded using one format and being unencoded by something that assumes it's encoded in a different format, so some characters are changed. I've seen it happen a lot with apostrophes

Some holier than though technorati douche bag, naturally drawn to Macs rather than PCs, using some douchey email client to send emails that can't be read accurately by any other email client. Really sad. I feel so sorry for these sorts of Biden supporters.
