    DCI Banks

Pretty typical British murder mystery show. Each episode is ½ of a story (total of 90 minutes per mystery). There is an overreaching arc, but it's not necessary to start from the beginning. Nice, not-too-complex-and confusing stories (yeah, "Endeavour," I'm looking at you).

Banks is an interesting character, but some of his associates (like Caroline Catz - from "Doc Martin") are just as interesting.

    Check out 2-3 mysteries...

I'm lot in love, like "Foyle's War," but it's pretty good, if you like Brit mysteries.

@jodi I finished it off the other day.

Very enjoyable. I really enjoyed the fact that I could watch, or binge, two episodes at a time to see the resolution of a mystery. It's nice to not be committed to a whole season. The 5th season has an over-reaching arc, but if you don't complete it, you're not missing a great deal.

If you do complete, it's good as well.

I loved Annie Cabbot, and it was interesting to see Caroline Catz (Doc Martin) in a serious role.

@george-k Yes, I find myself watching a couple at a time too. I loved Endeavor as well, but I don’t think I finished the latest season - I think I liked the earlier seasons better.

            Ragnarok

A very different take on the Thor story from the Marvel guys - it's Norwegian made, and very not-Hollywood. On Netflix. Mrs. Phibes started watching it, and I ended up joining in. Still not quite sure about it, but it's interesting.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll have to check it out.

Currently watching "Cardinal" on HULU - Canadian cop show set in the fictional town of Algonquin Bay (actually filmed in Sudbury, and North Bay where my family and I vacationed a couple of times when I was a kid - on Lake Nipissing).

Interesting characters and it's, to say the least, "gritty." And by "gritty" I'm talking about decapitations and amputations, not to mention torture.

"On July 27, 1964, the park was officially opened. "

I would guess that I was 13 years old when we stayed up there, perhaps 14 on our second vacation. That park wasn't open then (I was born in 1950), and we only traveled to Sudbury one time, iirc. Our cottage was on the south shore of Lake Nipissing, and if we needed anything, we'd go to North Bay. Sudbury was a 60 mile drive.

And, after all, why go there?

                                  Clarkson's Farm on Amazon.

Jeremy Clarkson has owned a farm since 2008. Now he's decided to run it. The first episode was interesting, and funny.

He's hopelessly out of his depth, but is getting a fair bit of help from people who aren't.

Incidentally, my paternal Uncle lives about 20 minutes from Clarkson - I haven't seen him since my brother's christening in 1966. Family argument.

Thanks for the recommendation. Is he still an ass on this show?

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

He's still very much Jeremy Clarkson, but not nearly as much of an ass as normal - he needs to get a lot of help from the locals. I suspect he's more being himself than he is on Top Gear.

                                      I was only joking

Is this the post where "twat" is appropriate?

It's worth watching just for Gerald in episode 2.
