    https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/03/amc-files-to-sell-11-million-shares-as-retail-trading-frenzy-continues-to-boost-stock.html

Just look at AMC Entertaiment the movie theater chain’s stock price chart, look at the two year view so you get a good sense of how it was like before the pandemic. Just look at it.

To me this is the classic new “meme stock”, but now that all that irrational money flowed in AMC has all sorts of money to re-invent itself.

Going to the movies is a get out of the house event that is affordable and not so time consuming. If people crave socialization and being out and about movies are as good as any other idea. Going to the movies is a very different experience than a Netflix.

Something's happened to me since March 2020.

I have absolutely no desire to go see a movie in a cinema whatsoever.

I'm fully vaccinated, I go for a walk every day, cycle at the weekends.

But the thought of being in a cinema horrifies me.

I guess I'm in the minority.

        I was only joking

40 years ago I went to the movie theatre at least twice per month

Now the schedule is more like about once per year

            covid doesn't make much difference
