I think the GOP might get lucky in 2022 and take the House back which would certainly slow much of the cultural indoctrination. That said things as Covid and vax denial, climate change denial, what happened at the Capitol as currently interpreted by the GOP is going to result in an increasingly small customer base to sell to.
Very true. It is, however, moderated by the lack of an acceptable alternative.

Well first of all, of course culture moves left over time, I doubt anybody is denying that. (Renauda predicts there will be a hard right turn in the foreseeable future, but that is because a conservative ran over his puppy when he was a kid, and he is a pessimist at heart.)
All the stupidity you cite of those who identify as on the right is unfortunate, but we also have to understand that the messaging powers that be will hold those examples up as if they are normative for those who identify as being on the right. And people buy that notion. You've apparently largely bought it, Loki. I don't doubt that young people mostly buy it. Such is the power of cultural messaging, especially these days with the messaging being less local and more national. The national messaging is dominated by the left.

It's the economy, stupid.
Bill is certainly right on that point. As Millenials and Gen-Z'ers become older, economic issues will play a larger role in their calculus of life. If "climate change" means they never pay off their student loans, cannot afford to buy a home or cannot afford to marry, I suspect climate change may not get the sacrifices the Left craves.

I have not changed my politics at all and I hear what Mik, Jolly and Horace are saying. I also understand how important it is to stay on message in a disciplined way and make sure the base continues to vote in high numbers. I also get how Trump needs to be defended until the party comes up with a unifying alternative.
I’ll also note that with demographic changes if you are continuing to lose your young you are slated for extinction..
Laughing at climate change people or saying I got my rights not get a vaccine just accelerate alienation among the young. They are literally non starters and you won’t even get an argument, it’s like ok boomer, past your bedtime… -

Over time the truth will become obvious and we will all have a good laugh about the 2020s' myths.

False about the dog and what is in my heart is none of your damn concern. Besides, I have no issue with conservatives or conservatism. My issue is what some of them have become as of late particularly in your neck of the woods.

I would agree, current American liberalism is something other and is pretty disdainful. It doesn't even qualify as socialism. Unfortunately it is being picked up on this side of the border and is being championed by populists and careerist politicians of all stripes.
