A look at Hollywood adapting their productions to avoid getting on the bad side of autocratic regimes when these regimes happen to control large entertainment markets.

“Instead of us doing business with China and that leading to China being more free, what has happened is that China has bought our silence with their money.”
    ...
Maybe [Hollywood] should imagine how they would react if they were being censored by Republican legislators rather than Communist apparatchiks. Sadly, the movie titans, for all their professed devotion to progressive ideals, can almost always be counted upon to put profit over principle.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

You’re barking up the wrong trees. There was a time when Hollywood threatened YouTube with lawsuits and threw barrels of lobbying money at trying to legislatively make the likes of YouTube enforce copyrights. But by and large Hollywood, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter already figured out how to mutually benefit with each other.

The tragedy is that we all knew this years ago. The media didn’t take interest because the wrong party pointed it out.

Now that Biden has made criticizing China safe and fashionable again, we get articles like this. So I love the article but it is not a revelation. Still I hope we continue down this path.
