The Only Man Ever to Win an LPGA Tour Event

Believe it or not, there has been one man to win an LPGA Tour event and it’s a name every golf fan should recognize. The man? Sam Snead, owner of the most PGA Tour wins in history (82). Snead received a special invitation to the Royal Poinciana Invitational in 1961 and 1962. The tournament took place at Palm Beach Golf Club on a par-3 course that effectively took away any distance advantage that a male golfer might have, making for a more or less level playing field.

The tournament only lasted 2 years, but was an official LPGA Tour event. In 1961, the tournament had 24 men and women competing. At that tournament, Snead finished 3rd, behind Dub Pagan and LPGA pro Louise Suggs. In 1962, the format changed, as 14 LPGA Tour players were invited with Sam Snead the only male player. This time, Snead showed his class to beat the competition, with future hall of famer Mickey Wright finishing in second. Thus, Snead is the only man to every win an LPGA Tour event.

I expect there will be more.

There is a lot of money in play

At age 66 I wonder how I would do against 12-year-olds

"That's a devastating experience. It tells me that I'm not good enough; that my body isn't good enough; and that no matter how hard I work, I am unlikely to succeed, because I'm a woman."

Mitchell's case, among four who sued Connecticut, had the support of the Trump administration Justice Department, but the Biden administration DOJ withdrew support for girl athletes amid their push for transgender rights.

So much blood on the hands of Biden supporters. And, ironically, no blood at all once a month from many winners of "girl's" sporting events.

Is this issue enough to flip some soccer mom votes?

I just think of all the hell that was raised to make sure girls had athletic programs available and now they can't compete on a level playing field.

Trans is just a choice, until your daughter can't win because of her God-given sex.

Way back in the dim mists of time, I was a pretty fair badminton player. Bad college club level. The lady who was over the PE department of the college, was a top ten nationally ranked amateur and #1 ranked female badminton player in the South. We used to play quite a bit. I routinely got my butt whipped, but I could give her a game.

She wouldn't have stood a chance against a top 100 man. And that's in a sport where speed or power is not as important as some others.

I don't think the idea that parents, when asked what sex their baby is, will say and feel "I'm not sure yet, that'll be their choice someday", has any political future. This transphilia the woke are trying to instill in the culture is a temporary aberration.

Another example...My daughter has a state championship ring for weight lifting. There is no way on God's green earth she could won her weight division against a wannabe girl. No way.

Might as well not even sign up and compete.

What is a woke to do?

                      Which mistreated group takes precedence?

I think the tie-breaker will have to be skin color.

The better skin color should be favored.

And that's going to become beyond obvious to anyone who cares even a little bit about sports. Mark my words, this will be one of the biggest erosion points of woke politics. What're they gonna do, demonize nearly everyone else in the community? They'll pack up and start their own leagues and divisions. This won't continue as-is, that's for sure. Look at the failed experiment with professional golf a few years ago.

Fallout's going to be sport-specific, though, I'm guessing. Archery might remain more fluid than, say, weight lifting.

                        Please love yourself.

Let’s just take all the privileged white cis gender males out of any and all competitions for 5 years.

That is a neat idea. I think that they should do that today. It would gain alot of interest I would think.
