Screw with their cars.
Used car prices have gone through the roof, because there aren't enough new cars to meet demand, Some dealerships that I have talked to, are very worried they soon won't be able to put enough product on the lot to keep everybody employed at the dealerships.
Granted, we finally have some tax breaks for chip manufacture, but that's a long way off before we see any benefit.
What are the political ramifications if Americans cannot buy the new car (unavailable) or used car (way too expensive) they want or need?

None. There has never been a revolution started because the people cannot buy cars.

I sometimes forget that Ax has never waited in line for an hour to buy five gallons of gas. Not for an entire summer.
Ask Mr. Carter about those car-connected political ramifications.

Seeing that you are already moving the goal post from “buying cars” to the much more vague “car-connected” terminology so early in a thread tells me that you already know there isn’t much political ramifications about “buying cars.”

Ronald Reagan and both houses of Congress.

Much of the new car shortage is chip related. When you consider what those chips do, like rear cameras and lane control if a revolution is caused by not having those features then we deserve to all die.
Remember that the cameras are required by law since 2017. -
