Get a shot or take your chances. Times up.

That has to be the message.

I think everybody who doesn't want the shot is of the opinion that they are taking their chances by getting one more so than by not getting one, so I don't know that that message will motivate anybody to do anything.

@loki Yeah but that would make more sense if states waited at least 6 weeks after they opened up vaccines to all comers. Any sooner and many people never had the opportunity to be immunized before the mandate ended.

Walked in Sam's this week. Free shots, no waiting. Not a soul partaking.

You guys are missing the point. Texas lifted their mandate on March 3rd. Check the dates on those tweets...

By the way, my Doctor’s office is now offering the Pfizer vaccine, which I distinctly remember being told was impossible somewhere... And they are administering 60 doses a day. The Walmart my son works at? Averaging 3...

I had to make an appointment a week in advance at my local Rite Aid to get my shot. I showed up at the appointed time and still waited 45 minutes because of the line. This was only a week ago.

Pride goeth before the fall. When the non vaxxers get sick and/or spread to a loved one who gets hospitalized or dies, they suddenly realize just how costly the hubris was and how fucking stupid it was to just be loyal to their tribe.

Are we? Some states didn’t open vaccines to all until late April or early May. If you got the Moderna you still might not be 2 weeks out from shot 2

You're preaching to the choir. At least in my case.

I meant that there is no going back now that masks are generally not necessary per the CDC. I have to believe Memorial Day weekend is too important for economy and needed a couple of weeks to get everyone in spend, travel and visit mode. I keep a mask on hand just in case but already have forgotten about the way life was. Will need for the airport later this week.

                      Yes.

It is now obvious that lots of important supply chains have been seriously disrupted - building materials and computer chips for example. These aren't thing you can just turn off and back on and expect them to come up to speed immediately.

They discovered it could be stored for 2 weeks in a normal freezer. Before they thought it needed ultra cold temps unavailable at your average GPs place.

I was being a little bit of a jackass with that comment. There was a small argument on here about the viability and importance of getting the vaccine out to family practitioners while you were on your partial hiatus.
