Summer reading for George
Interesting that’s it’s published in his neck of wood, Illinois, (silent S) but uses Phibes English spelling. I understand the authors (authours) are English.
But when I publish in an English journal, the editor expects English spelling. When I publish in an American journal, the editor expects American spelling. I wonder when that convention was finalized.
Maybe different for book as opposed to articles. -

You should have seen the look on the surgeon's face when we told him he couldn't use cautery.
Sir Robert Macintosh is probably best known for developing a laryngoscope blade which became the de-facto standard for 90% of anesthesiologists in the 20th century.
