Are there any pickup truck people here? (Tonneau covers)

Jodi, I have had a pickup truck since 1991, and have never used a cover for the bed of it. There must be some truck forums or other places online to get some user info.

I dunno. I buy a pickup every 12-15 years, getting the next one after I've totally ragged out the last one.
The best bed caps are fiberglass. They don't leak, but they defeat the purpose of having a bed.
The hard folding caps cost too durn much.
The roll-ups can also be too expensive if you buy a good one that won't leak.
My opinion (that and $1 will buy a MickeyD's coffee) is that a good folding soft cover is the best bang for the buck. Installed correctly, they don't leak, many will fold flat with the cab end of the bed and you should get five years or more out of a good one. And most can be taken off in fifteen minutes or less.

@jolly Horses. And I kind of want to keep snow out of my truck bed - we don’t get that much, not like Maine, but the truck is parked outside because it doesn’t fit in the garage, and I usually shovel it out once or twice a winter (and it would be easier to push it off a cover) But also it’s because we are picking daughter up (in portland, OR) with all her crap from grad school in a month and I need something to cover the bed for the long drive back, we don’t have a car big enough to do the job.

I'm a value guy. As such there are probably better covers out there, but these are supposed to be good bang for the buck.

SIL's husband has one on his Z71 and has been pleased. But, he does trade about every two years, so I can't speak for longevity.
