Won’t make any difference at all. 800 megawatts? This country uses around 3900 GIGAwatts annually. That’s .0002%.

Got to start somewhere. Cracking NIMBY-ism would also be good.

President Trump forgot to mention that wind also causes cancer.

Putting away the jokes, nothing is free.

Want wind power? Increased birds killed. Weird propeller flicker can cause mental problems.

          Want nuclear? Chernobyl

Want oil and gas? Increased pollution

Want solar? pollution from raw material

Want bio fuels? Disrupt food crops and chain

          etc
          etc
          etc

I find it interesting that the wokinistas of Martha's Vineyard would put up with windmills on the horizon...

They're going to be 12 miles away - I doubt they'll see much.

This was floated during the Obama administration too, and they screamed bloody murder.

I wonder what Elon Musk’s current thoughts on wind power are?

                    This was proposed decades ago.

Ted Kennedy kept it from happening, fighting it for years.

I don't know about the plan for this development, but the one that Ted was fighting included roughly doubling the price of electricity. This was definitely not meant to save money. And the mills were to be seen from shore.

The idea that seeing a windmill would spoil the view of the beach more than getting a glimpse of Teddy Kennedy wandering around in a Speedo always made me laugh.

Meanwhile, they won't even let Pennsylvania build natural gas pipelines...
