A more comprehensive look at which states receive how much money from the relief act, also compares how the 2021 formula differed from the 2020 formula:
Give it another tax reporting cycle ... whatever capital gains taxes that Californians paid to turn the state’s budget into a surplus, they pay even more into the federal coffers based on those very same capital gains. I suspect when the final tally comes out you’d continue to see that California continues to pay more into the federal coffers than it takes out of it.
