Dead Organ
-
There is an organ at the church that hasn't been used in a few years. It's electric and a couple of the keys make some interesting, decidedly unmusical noises.
Since we are doing some ceiling work in the sanctuary right now and things are being moved around, I think it's time to slide Bessie into the dumpster. Of course, there will be the regular howls from somebody whose mother gave $25 to the organ fund 35 years ago when the thing was bought.
A couple of questions...
- Do I even go to the trouble to try to find anybody to work on this thing? Does anybody even want it for free, do you think?
- What is the best and cheapest substitute for an organ that is almost never played?

What’s the brand? Whether there are people that can repair it or not depends a lot on region.
If it’s not used a ton, just look for a decent digital piano.
