WW II created some anti-Asian sentiment.

    But that has mostly dissipated.

Other than that, yes, the media obviously recently started stirring.

Remember when Rick Moranis got sucker punched in the face by a random young urban gentleman? The only reason anybody ever heard about it was because he is a celebrity.

It’s fascinating watching the media create narratives at will, purely out of anecdote culled from a society of hundreds of millions.

        Education is extremely important.

I was watching a Chris Rock special from 2018 called Tamborine today. One of the funniest and most insightful human beings ever. The first 15 minutes of the act was devoted to how white cops kill black people. There were punch lines about how maybe white cops should kill a white kid sometimes, just to keep up appearances. That we should all be seeing white mothers crying on TV sometimes, just for appearances sake. Because Chris Rock literally does not believe that cops ever shoot white people.

It is apparent that the power of the media and the messaging elite is almost absolute over the ideas people have in their brains. So, again, thanks, The Left! Job well done, you've created all the crazy hatred you could ever have dreamed of. Sigh.

              Education is extremely important.

There is a rich history of 'asian hate' in disadvantaged neighborhoods where asians own lots of little shops. It's never been deemed narrative-worthy.

                                      https://nypost.com/2021/05/31/asian-woman-randomly-slugged-in-the-face-outside-nyc-restaurant/

An unhinged man randomly slugged an Asian woman in the face, knocking her to the ground, in a brazen attack outside a Chinatown restaurant on Monday, police said.

Surveillance video posted on Twitter by Assemblywoman Yuh-Line Niou, whose district covers Chinatown, captured the horrifying daytime assault on Bayard Street, near Mott Street.

The 55-year-old victim can be seen walking by the Kong Sihk Tong café around 6:15 p.m. — when a man in an orange hoodie and denim jacket whacks her unprovoked.

The woman falls backward onto the pavement, and the attacker begins ranting as two people dining outside sit in stunned silence, the footage shows.

A man then rushes over to check on the victim, whose back was leaning up against a column of the eatery’s outdoor dining setup.

“Are you OK?” he asks — but the woman doesn’t respond or move, according to the footage.

She was brought to NewYork-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Niou said the victim was “conscious and cognizant and alert.”

The woman looked shaken as cops later escorted her home with her daughter.

“She’s doing OK,” the daughter told The Post through the door of her mom’s apartment.

The suspect was nabbed at the scene and taken to Bellevue Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, according to law enforcement sources.

                                      Charges against him were pending.

“Things are being investigated and the hate crimes task force has been called in,” the assemblywoman tweeted.

A witness captured the aftermath of the brutal assault on video, including footage of the alleged attacker approaching him and of cops questioning the suspect, who could be heard telling them “someone hit me” in one of the clips posted on Instagram.

                                      The RWEC comments:

One of the reasons I wanted to bring this story to light was not only the appalling nature of what’s been going on but the way the press has been covering these reports. You’ll notice how the assailant is described in the report as “an unhinged man” and “a man in an orange hoodie.” (And this is the New York Post we’re talking about. They’re normally less squeamish.) In the CBS video report, he is similarly described as “a man” and “the suspect.”

Is it just my imagination, or when some random white guy attacks or shoots someone and the victim is a person of color, the races of those involved are blasted in the first sentence of the report and then repeated ad nauseam throughout the article or news clip? You only have to watch that video casually to be able to see that the suspect is Black. And while it’s obviously not the situation in every case, a significant number of these seemingly random attacks on Asians have followed this pattern. The same goes for many of the recent antisemitic attacks on New York City Jews. Of course, that’s a bit less surprising because New York City has a long history of animosity in that demographic pairing.

The question is, why? What are the rules for reporting standards these days? Have the style guides been updated in regard to this question without anyone mentioning the changes? It just seems like if the race of suspects and victims is important information in one case, the same would be true of all cases. Unless, of course, you’re supporting an ongoing narrative and only reports that support that narrative merit mentioning in the press.

The attack has been reported to the hate crimes division at the NYPD. But will they actually take it up? Yes, the victim was a minority resident of the city, but I’m struggling to remember the last time a non-white person was prosecuted for a hate crime. I’ll climb down off my soapbox now.

It's just your imagination. There are two sides to the media, the right-leaning media does exactly the opposite and exactly as badly. Also you're a racist.

                                        Education is extremely important.
