Humans have an effect upon weather, but the sun is the driving force.

What would it take for 'Murricans to actually say something like, "whoa, okay, this is a serious environmental problem and we should inconvenience ourselves to fix it, it's that important."

If the debate is actually over where that line is, I don't mind discussing it as long as both sides understand it's got to be mutually agreed upon and at least a little arbitrary.

But in practice, because they can't even take a pandemic seriously I don't give a single fuck what climate change deniers think about anything.

      Please love yourself.

The climate change lovers have stretched the truth for decades.

It is understandable that deniers don't trust them.

Even today nobody can say with certainty the precise causes and effects, or where we'll be in 50 years.

So for now we'll just have to settle for screaming, vulgar language and insults. This strategy seems to be working well so far.

Eventually the climate change lovers might establish a track record of believable data. Then we'll get more change, we are clearly on that path already.

The market is taking care of this as it should be. Not all change is governmental.

Why should 'Muricans knock themselves out for climate change, when the Chinese are the world's biggest polluter?

No, what I'm saying, is that Americans have already done quite a bit. We are a responsible nation. But China is not. Not at all.

So, why do we have to make up for their shortcomings? Especially as doing so benefits their economy, not ours?

The train has left the station on climate change. The deniers are a fringe group that show no evidence of having impact on future elections. Hanging on to Vaccine, masks and climate change themes may feel good but are increasingly irrelevant.

Yeah China and India are big problems but god help us if they figure out how to be carbon neutral before us because it will be an enormous business.

                            Sez you, Coastman.

A lot depends on whether the influx of people into Texas, Florida, etc., turn those states purple or if the newcomers turn red. If the latter, the New Yorks and Californias will be less prominent in national politics.

Very few of the people I talk to, of all generations, are nearly as woke or tuned into the Climate BS, as the coasts.

As for all of the green jobs to come...I believe that when I see it. Last time I was fed a line like that, the guy behind the podium was blowing smoke about "shovel-ready" projects for the economy. Tell me, how'd that work out?

As for the masks, see the protest at OSU? You see the kids hanging out at the Union, with very few masks in sight? Apparently, COVID no longer exists in Ohio. Or at least does not among people less than 30 years old.

Lastly, about the vaccine...As people find out that they need yearly boosters, I think the people at risk will actively seek out vaccination. I think a lot of the rest of the population will soon ignore the vaccine updates, unless a variant arises with a high mortality rate among people less than 50 who are in good physical shape.

Interesting article, but the last sentence makes me go whaaaaaaaaat?

"And the need for extra heating in both hemispheres would come at a time when it’s likely that much of our heating capacity, supplied largely by fossil fuels, will have been eliminated in the name of combating climate change."

To me, that is kind of "absurd" statement, that makes me question the rest of what was wrote. So, we are going to eliminate heating capacity, and allow people to freeze? ummmmm, no, I do not think so.
