          Although all of these performances have their strengths I like the following (not in any order):
          Kern
          Bronfman
          Cliburn
          Gavrylyuk

          Volodos and Lim are overall good, but Lang Lang? Way too fast and with unreal faces!!

            I think Lang Lang is actually a better pianist than his external behavior and image suggests. If one listens to audio only or closes the eyes, he often has good musical ideas and of course a killer technique.

                @klaus For the Tchaikovsky No. 1 octaves I choose Horowitz. No one else even close!
