US Covid cases

The curve is flat. Which is good I guess. But with ~50% of adults vaccinated, I expected to see some serious declines in the case count.
Perhaps we need to wait a few more weeks to see those effects. Or perhaps the counterfactual is that we're avoiding a big new spike like we're seeing in other countries.
What are your expectations of where this thing is going?
Death rates are down 32% over the past 30 days. We’re protecting the vulnerable.

It looks like most states are stable, some are declining, and increasing in Michigan, Illinois, and Minnesota. Florida has shown a slight increase as well. Texas is doing well.
Considering how many more kids are back in school and how people are starting to loosen up their restrictions, I find those numbers encouraging.

Pull it down to 30 days.

The only one climbing in deaths is Michigan, and the # of cases is falling.

“My common sense meter would demand the answer to: Why weren’t we shut down for COVID 1 through 18?” he said earlier this month on Facebook Live.
I think his common sense meter was irretrievably lost long, long ago.

Speaking of Michigan, I see that arch COVID denier and wacky libertarian guitar wrangler, Ted Nugent, has come down with the bug:

Not relying on Hollywood types and musicians for how to live and what to believe is generally sage advice.

Oregon is trending up enough that the Governor is talking about extreme lockdown....again. This would be our 3rd or 4th one? I hope they decide to shut down the schools - I am guessing that is where our current increase is coming from, not the restaurants.

Must not be a problem at Ohio State. That was quite a crowd of protesters they had the other day...

The problem in the US, and other parts of the world, is that the people who are yelling the loudest about things being locked down, are the same people not willing to do the things to get the economy opened up again.
Seems kind of funny.
