It only seems like a month or so ago that everybody was wondering why India was doing so well. I guess they weren't. The graph for infections looks absolutely horrifying.

It's interesting talking to people in Asia. I have a colleague I'm quite friendly with in Japan, and he was sounding pretty twitchy at the end of last week.
Some of the off-the-record discussions I had with some Chinese folks in Changzhou this time last year were interesting too. Their take on how bad it was seemed to be somewhat at odds with what the government were saying at the time. 'Very, very bad' was how he described it.

I haven't talked to him in a while other than about work stuff - he was a customer rather than a colleague, but one who I know fairly well.
