Thank you for sending me the notice that I would experience a 10 minute delay. That was very valuable information to receive at 9:09PM. However, as it is now 2 hours and 20 minutes later and your app is still telling me it will be a 10 minute delay, I seem to be having some difficulty in trusting your product.

    Sincerely,

    A new Apple Maps user...

    The Brad

True it’s nice to use Israeli tech, but honestly, waze is the best navigation system ever conceived.

This may be a little too much but I don’t think anyone here goes around the block without waze.

I certainly use it for every morning commute to work. Since there are a few alternative routes depending on traffic, I always have it on. Saves me a bundle of time. I shut down the voice outs so I can listen to podcasts but I keep the map on the dash always.

The issue I have with Waze is informational overload. I’m trying to listen to an audiobook, and every 30 seconds it’s interrupting to tell me that there’s a speed trap or somebody has reported debris, or a new route that is 7 seconds faster has opened... Ooops, no it hasn’t, yes it has but you missed the turnoff....

You can turn off audio notifications, or just select which ones you'll hear.

Yup. Waze is the best by far and no need for audio

Sometimes Waze will take you through bizarre set of sketchy side streets just to save you two minutes. I use it occasionally, but not too often.

Truth be told I don't use any map app very often these days.

Nor do I. The only reason I use any of them is to determine what's the fastest route to my destination (which I already know how to get to) and to show me traffic backups, etc.

I had Waze take me on an unending circle blocks around where I needed to end up. That was SO frustrating. It was nighttime, raining hard, and my phone battery was going dead. I had to get to the rehab center my mom was taken to earlier in the evening. I have never been so close to freaking out and throwing the phone out the window. And, just when I thought I had the answer with a more precise address, the screen went dim as my phone automatically went into power-saving mode. I could no longer see the damn screen. I eventually made it, of course.
                          Thanks, Waze!!

I've also found that Waze can take a LONG time to find something. When we were in Denver two years ago, it took forever to get directions to the airport from our hotel.

I had Waze tell me once to circle the block instead of just turning the other way out of the parking lot.

But I use it all the time. Love it when it tells me there are cops ahead.

Even for known short drives it is good to be diverted in case of an accident, road closure or construction. I’ve regretted not turning it on at least three times.
