    REO Speedwagon was a bit infamous for making albums that sounded all alike, but the stars aligned for their ninth. Forty years ago (Yes, forty years ago) the album generated a number one hit and went on to contain six Billboard charting songs. That propelled it the best selling rock album of 1981, going platinum ten times (10,000,000 albums).

      Journey was around for a long time before they hit too. I first saw them in 1974 or 5.
