So much for the claim that by not getting immunized you're only putting yourself at risk.

What are the final stats? .00003%? The vaccine stats are still effectively 100% against cases beyond mild symptoms.
Currently, the numbers are 66,203,123 fully vaccinated as of April 8th. 5800 breakthrough cases or .0087%. 406 cases go beyond mild symptoms, that's .0006%. As an interesting side note, you have a .00067% chance of being struck by lightning AND a .0012% chance of being hit by a car on any one individual bike ride.
That's at effectively 20% immunization. As more people get immunized, that number does get smaller.

They’ve suspended the J&J vaccine over 1 death

So much for any hope of reasonable limits.
Emotional thinkers -> one death -> outlaw that proximal cause
These people shouldn't be trust with social policy, but by definition, they always are.
It's not really emotional thinking, it's CYA thinking. I work in public safety, I know how it operates. There's always a fear that for every tip, there's an associated iceberg. The area tends to attract people who suffer from an abundance of caution.

I certainly agree it's CYA at its executive level. But it's all supported ultimately by the culture.

This is a very litigious culture, which also explains quite a bit about how people think

The media stories aren't interested in how litigious we are.
