Waiting for my vaccination....

Because it’s in Boston, and I’m me, I left really early, just in case. So now I’m 90 minutes early. Central Boston is rather eerie. The Prudential Center is almost deserted. Went for a walk. Then another one. I don’t really like cities, but I’d forgotten. The other thing I forgot was my Kindle. La de dah....

It’s at the Hynes Convention Center on Boylston. They also do them at Gillette stadium but that would be too easy as it’s a mile from where I live

....and I’m done. Surprisingly efficient process. I’m in a big hall waiting to see if there’s an allergic reaction with about 200 other people

The providers do seem to have this down to a well oiled machine - once they have the vaccines.
What I have been looking for is somewhere I can volunteer to help those not computer literate or the elderly to get appointments. Have not seen anything in this area.

I was quite surprised by how quiet it was in the center of Boston - I haven't been in over a year. I briefly went shopping a few months ago to a place near here, and it was horrendously busy to the point where I didn't feel particularly safe - loads of families with no masks, etc. In the Prudential Place mall in Boston everybody was behaving very well, 100% masks as far as I could see, lots of distancing going on. Even though all the stores were open, there were very few shoppers.

I loved my visit to Boston several year ago. Had lunch in a hole-in-the-wall middle-eastern restaurant, so good but I have no clue what it was.
And, driving to Portland Maine was not a long drive, but it took $12 in tolls which I thought was a real ripoff. They're talking about placing tolls on our freeways here. Will probably happen, as it's being done behind the scenes. Oh, and the restaurant on a boat was fantastic seafood. I'd love to explore the New England areas, it's so different from here, just a lot of history that Oregon was not a part of.
