I've often asked the question, 'does the Swedish model mean that it's possible to not implement social distancing and still not have cases grow out of control? Or does it mean that Swedes will do a reasonable job of social distancing without coercion?'

(put aside for now whether their case and death rates count as success or not)

One indicator would be the economic results. If the economy takes the same hit as countries with stricter lockdowns, it argues for the second interpretation.

The Swedish central bank put out some estimates of the impact on GDP. It's pretty much in the ballpark with the UK, Germany, Spain and even Italy if you take their higher estimate.

    You were warned.

I'm sure he cherry picked Nashville because the numbers are uncannily close to Stockholm. But still, its probably in the ballpark of many other cities.

      You were warned.

Never thought I’d see the day when Sweden flipped as the example for both sides. Lol

The question I keep asking is ‘what, exactly, is it an example of?’

It's an example of a country where people are still going to work and the kids are still going to school.

                Education is extremely important.

Primary and middle schools are open, high schools and colleges are closed.

Workplaces are open, but how many are showing up?

The central bank expects their economic hit to be of a piece with the rest of Europe.

                  You were warned.

I think we're allowed to assume that people are showing up to work there. And the kids are in school. It's an example of that.
