Why do...
-
All microwaves have a popcorn button and all bags of microwave popcorn tell you not to use the button?
-

I wonder what the google algorithm says about me based on my searches on random TNCR topics?
It’s a new rabbit hole every day.

@lufins-dad The microwaves have the button because uninformed buyers think it's a good feature and are more likely to purchase it.
Popcorn sellers know the preprogrammed feature will overcook and even burn the product, and consumers will blame the popcorn seller, thus the seller loses sales.
Experienced popcorn microwavers ignore both the button and the warning. Many switch to making their popcorn on the stove, and discover that it tastes better that way.

Holy crap, I couldn't even get to the name of the thing. That's the worst thing I've ever seen.

I have a hubby who makes our popcorn. Good taste and cheap to maintain.
I should add that the popcorn he makes is excellent, too.
