I have no idea what made me think of her this morning. She we very active on PW before I left that forum. IIRC, she was a mod fora while as well.

I do remember her. Sad, and much too young.

There are no "pretty ways" to die.

Esophageal cancer is one of the "unprettiest," however.

Esophageal varices ain't no picnic, either. Seen a lot of old drunks go that way.

Anyway...God Bless her family in their time of grief and sorrow. May she rest in peace.

The helmet! There's something I haven't seen in decades. Thank God for endoscopy!

                Yes, Monica was terrific.

It is kind of weird that you thought of her this morning. It was a year ago this week that I thought of her and went to say hello and found out that she had passed 6 months earlier.

I had known she had the cancer, but didn't know the time had run out.

Sad...when I worked at the National Cancer Institute, I remember thinking that esophageal cancer was not a good "choice."

Yesterday, must have been a day for nostalgia. I was remembering Derrick. He worked for IBM, but dreamed of getting a job stocking shelves - and owned a Bosendorfer Imperial and had a cute cat. I don't think he's been on that forum for years. A couple of years ago, I tried to PM him w/o success.

I remember Derrick, but don't remember Monica. Was that the name she went by in PW?

That is so sad. Monica was active after we split from piano world (and the coffee room was no longer) I quit going there, so didn’t get to know her. Derrick had two names, he was active early on with the first one, (johnD, maybe, I can’t remember) then came back as Derrick.pretty sure he had a Fazioli at one point too, and I used to know his real name.
