    Senate overrides his veto of SB 22 limiting the governor's power in health crises. This is bad.

      Just got around to skimming through some of SB22’s text.

      Most of it goes along the line of “the state assembly can rescind emergency orders issued by the executive branch.”

      For sure it gives the state assembly power to override the Governor, but it does not prevent the executive branch from issuing emergency orders. The executive branch can still issue emergency orders, and the state assembly can still choose not to rescind such orders.

      In principle, I think I am OK with this.

      @Mik, what am I missing?

        The short attention span of the public. Ohio would not have managed as well as we did if a lot of the legislature had its way. The ‘masks are tyranny’ crowd was pushing back from day one. Many legislators were willing to follow to gain support. Their thinking was kneejerk emotional and not science nor data based. Had they had their way our death toll would have been a lot higher.

        The executive branch of state governments needs flexibility in health emergency situations.
