Just got my first professional haircut in over a year. Feels great. MFR has been cutting it and doing a pretty good job, but it terrifies her every time.

Like a robin in the spring, a small sign of normalcy.

It is a great thing. Mrs. Phibes did mine a couple of times, then her hairdresser offered to open up specially for us, which was really nice of her. She'd gone through a really tough time, and we'd bought a couple of gift tokens to try and help a bit, without really intending to ever use them, and then Mrs. Phibes fixed some clothing for her, so she drove in and cut our hair. I wore a mask, but she sliced right through it 😆

Yep. I paid my guy for the last year of cuts I did not get today. It seemed a proper use of the money the government has showered on us.

We're trying to find things to do with ours that will actually benefit the people who need it. I think it's the best thing we can do with the money. I find the whole concept of cash handouts to people who don't actually need them really appalling. It seems like such a lazy solution.

Of course, some of it's going to go on a car, if I ever go back to work. But we already bailed out General Motors once.

I wholly agree. I can see why they did that approach last spring, but it would seem they could have targeted it better after more data was in on who really needed it.

That's why I toyed around with returning the money.

But common sense prevailed. Well, that and LuFin's grounded advice.

Remember - the Scottish economy is really struggling at the moment. Those small-business guys out in the highlands and islands really need your help.
