Writing in anticipation of a small screen deal?

    Education is extremely important.

Not sure, but it has that True Detective vibe to it. I'm about due for a good King read.

I love his "Hard Case Crime" books. After I read The Colorado Kid, I was hooked. I queued this one up, too.

Stephen King - is he like an American J.K. Rowling?

            LOL.

My husband used to do that to me. Only not with poetry, but with Stephen King. He would get engrossed in a book, get scared, then wake me up.

            πŸ˜„ That's awesome.

Yesterday I was going to post in this thread about how I don't do any of that shit. Which I don't. But what I did do was wake her ass up at around midnight by wailing on the front door while covered in mud yelling, "it might have gotten a little interesting out there but I got one motherfucker, I GOT ONE I think! "

What happened was that there was rain but also heavy fog in our area, which seldom happens. So, I snuck out to do some long exposure photography. I found myself near a school and was setting up to take a photo when a cop car rolled in with lights that ruined my exposure. Also, spotlight on me. Apparently I may or may not have been trespassing. So I walked away and hid in a swamp until they left because eff you, 5-0, this is gonna be a good photo, I just need you to get the hell away from here so I can take it. After they drove off I took the photo, but they were driving back (more aggressively) when I was wrapping up so I felt it was a good time to leave, very quickly.

To state the most obvious thing you'll hear today, my wife puts up with a lot.

Oh, my sainted aunt. That is so fabulous that words fail me.

Can you blow it up and hang it someplace?

I think you've got serious, and I mean serious chops as a photographer.

Yeah, after the world stops, y'know, ending, I'm going to compile all the ones I took in the past year and probably put a book together. Not to sell or anything, just because I want to keep 'em.

I think you've got serious, and I mean serious chops as a photographer.

Yeah, I don't know about that. πŸ˜„ But I do practice a lot and try to get better.

I really liked photography in high school, but no one ever told me to pay attention to the things you like as a kid because they're actually important. Took me decades to look into it again, when I worked with a guy who was doing some fun things with editing his negatives using Nuke and Photoshop. I figured hell, I used to know how a camera works, I guess I can try to get into it again.

So I'm keeping it light, just having fun with it, doing whatever I feel like. Trying not to take it too seriously.

                    Please love yourself.

Aqua, I urge you to acknowledge, if only to yourself, that you are creating something important. You may describe it as having fun, but I think your photos deserve more.

We have all suffered very much for what seems like forever, and are suffering still. We are in a time of celebration of infamy: hate, dishonor, sneering, men stalking the streets venting their violence, and other men and women battening on ugly divisiveness for their own gain, with deliberate indifference toward others. A population that is alarmingly ignorant of where they live, and greatly unprepared for the consequences thereof. And of course, sickness, sickness everywhere. We are so tired -- more than that, we are weary.

People need sources of joy, if only fleeting. To come upon a picture of a man gazing upward in wonder at a magnificent, unique creation like this tree can be a balm on the soul that far outweighs the moment of the picture itself. In these heavy days, such a moment can give respite to a mind, a soul -- even a life.

                          But no pressure. πŸ™‚

Well, the problem is, I don't take photos to take on more responsibilityβ€”the whole point is that I can use photography to shirk my present responsibilities. πŸ˜„
