Earnings of Football Team Owners
-
Being bizzy-bizzy-bizzy learning about football, I came across the question of how much money do the owners of football teams make, and thought y'all would find it interesting:
Quora: "Between $20 Million (low end) and probably around $500 million (high end) a year."
Another Quorum commenter: "Owning a sports team is rarely about making a profit. Even when a team is profitable, money is usually reinvested in improving the playing squad, coaches, infrastructure, etc. or used to reduce debt from previous capital investments such as stadium redevelopments or improving training facilities.
Instead of looking for a financial return, owners are more focused on either prestige or improving the team."

In a way, it may be like real estate.
Maybe not much money profit each year, but the value will increase )hopefully) so if you sell, you make lots of money.

There's an old saying in motor racing - if you want to make a small fortune in Formula 1, start with a large fortune and then buy an F1 team.

So many variables. There are very few cases where 1 person owns the whole team. In most cases there are ownership groups with different shares. In some cases, majority owners have salaried positions with the team, in others they don’t. There are a few owners that own their stadiums (greatly increasing their income) but most don’t. Then you have Green Bay...
