What I really wonder is what happens to the monarchy after the Queen dies. I’m not sure it will be the same/as popular.
I wonder about that as well. While Charles is not at all popular, William comes across as very much the heir apparent both in terms of how he presents himself and popular appeal. Still, I doubt that Charles will forfeit his birthright as King, and pass the Crown to William.

Yes. He's been waiting to be king for .... 70 years? I can't see him saying, "Nah, give it to the kid," or whatever the proper British way to say it would be.

Edward VII had to take over when he was an old codger, too.
The women seem to live longer than the men in that family, at least relatively recently.

I can see Charles passing. I think he'd just as soon not be bothered at this point. That's an advanced age to start.
No, at that point you take the job for a week... Just to be on the books.

After finally watching all four seasons of the crown, I have learned much about the royal family, although I am not certain as to how much of their story has been dramatized for the show. One thing I do know, is that if Charles is Anything close to how he is portrayed in the show, someone needs to take him out side and put a bullet through his head, the miserable fuck. Just another entitled human who only gives a shit about himself.
-
@nobodyssock , your post about Charles seems extreme. Are you alright, buddy?

Princess Margaret being the notable exception.

@renauda And maybe Princess Diana.

She rather followed the George VI lifestyle as far as tobacco was concerned.

That took long enough...
They need to insert the Cuomo blanket beer image behind those two.
