IIRC, @Axtremus, you have one of the new MacBook Air models.
D2 has an old (2014) 11 inch MacBook Air.
She uses it for video conferencing with her patients, simple record-keeping, etc. Nothing particularly graphic-intensive.
It's starting to get a little long in the tooth - she has to keep track of hard drive space, the battery is not holding its own, and it's reached the end of upgradability as far as the OS goes.
So, I'm thinking the base 13" MacBook Air, with the lower-end graphics card and the 256 GB drive would be adequate for her needs. I don't think she needs to upgrade the RAM for what she's doing, and if anything, perhaps upgrade storage to 512.
What do you think?

Base 13” MacBook Air is fine.
You cannot upgrade the RAM anyway (no such option offered by Apple).
If she’s close to filling up her current laptop with 256GB storage, upgrading to 512GB would make sense, but if she’s using only a quarter of her current 256GB, then maybe sticking with the 256GB will be fine. :man-shrugging:Good luck.

The other question is this:
If she needs more hard drive space, and/or a new battery, the expenditure would be about $150 for battery and 256GB drive. Add $70 for a 512GB drive, so about $220.
The computer sells for about $300 on eBay.
So, a brand new one, with better spec, etc is $900 ($600 after selling the old one). Is it worth upgrading it for $220? I think not.
