From Cuomo’s daily update. Note a recent negative test is sufficient if you’re not vaccinated.
- The State announced a pilot program to test the Excelsior Pass at Madison Square Garden and the Barclays Center. The Excelsior Pass, developed in partnership with IBM, will use proven, secure technology to confirm an individual's vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 test to help fast-track the reopening of many entertainment venues and other businesses in accordance with New York State guidelines. This new technology was successfully tested during the initial phase of the pilot during the Brooklyn Nets game at the Barclays Center on February 27. It will now be tested for a second time during the New York Rangers game tonight, March 2, at Madison Square Garden.

I’m ok with it as a temporary measure to allow early reopening of large venues. But by the time vaccines are generally available to all comers I would no longer support it.
As long as they don’t delay reopening anything I’m actually okay with it. I’m assuming the infection rates drop faster than our expectations.

Great to see. Again, one is welcome not to opt for the vaccine and stay the fvck home.
And increasingly colleges are making the vaccine mandatory:

There is always going to be a certain % of people that will not be able to do anything they want.
Amusement park - I want to go on the ride, but I am below a certain height - I cannot go.
Want to buy alcohol - I am below a certain age, so cannot.
I want to drive a car, but I cannot see very well - I cannot get a license.
I Want to go to a restaurant that requires I have a vaccine, but I cannot get one - I cannot go to that restaurant.
In a perfect world, we would be able to have everybody do everything.
Unfortunately, the world is not perfect.

Don't forget the ADA
Everyone must have access
But if there are safety issues, like in the examples I gave above, then it does not apply.
I think it is possible that not having a COVID vaccine is a safety issues, not a disability issue.

You make a good point Copper, but sometimes the good of society comes in front of the individual.
And, sometimes when you go deeper, the individual does have an impact on society.
for example: seat belt for cars or helmets for motorcycles. Someone could say that, "it is my choice. If I want to take a chance, I should be able to." However, if you do not wear a seat belt or helmet and are in an accident, it is more likely your injury will be worse. There fore, you will have more expenses at the hospital, which ultimately will be passed along to society as a whole.

Those who don’t want the vaccine don’t care about the economy.
?
Until we get to herd immunity it’s always about Covid impacting our lives and politicians and media talking about it. Just get it in our past.

Interesting.
It’s too bad people don’t follow the science.
