Our dog is a border collie German Shepard cross. Good dog, smart, likes to please and responds well to commands. Not at all a wanderer, which great on off leash walks.
A bit of barker and can be very territorial with other dogs and strangers.Absolutely hates anything with feathers and squirrels.

Border Collies need ALOT of exercise, and frankly aren’t very happy unless they are being trained and worked.

Oh Mik, they are adorable! Having a pair helps ease the worry when you have to leave them for a while. I wish my dog had a companion (now that I can´t bring her in my classroom anymore), but she´s too set in her ways to want a companion. I bet the cat helps keep the dog in his place

Exciting development!
So you're, what, fostering them while y'all decide if the fit is right? Or is it a done-deal adoption?
Keep us posted, k?

Mik, you will enjoy this all the more now that you're retired. My kiddo has a friend with two cats and a dog. The youngest cat adores the dog. The cat is growing up and getting quite big, but the dog is enormous. It's fun to see how they've become best buddies. You may see the same thing with these two.

Will they let you keep the animals on a trial basis to see how it will work out?
BTW that cat you lost out on is beautiful.

D1 adopted a cat from a shelter. It was the most annoying, obnoxious, destructive thing. She took it back after a week with no issue. She did adopt another one at that time, and it's worked out great.
