Well, that's totally different, then. Thanks for pointing that out, LOL.

Should have named it Aunt Teefa.

They should have just changed it to Aunt Becky and put a white chick on it.

Put on it a gender neutral face with racially ambiguous skin tone and call them "Cousin Kim", and you would have covered all bases.

                It's not real syrup anyway.

                  Interesting:

“Many people prefer fake maple syrup, the stickier alternative to the concentrated sap from sugar maple trees. In a recent consumer survey, the Washington Post found that while 27 percent of the Americans polled liked real maple syrup, nearly 70 percent preferred artificial versions (25 percent chose Aunt Jemima, 24 percent picked Mrs Butterworth’s, and 14 percent preferred Log Cabin).”

                    Interesting.

They probably make it sweeter these days. Plus for many people that’s what they’re used to.

My mother used the fake stuff when I was growing up. I only buy real.

When I was small, my grandmother used to buy syrup in tins that were shaped like log cabins -- come to think of it, I think the product was called Log Cabin -- and the pour opening was on the roof.

We eat mostly cane syrup, not maple (although I do have a small bit of maple. Not the best grade, but farmer grade). I prefer locally made cane syrup, but it's getting harder to find.

Commercially, some people like Steen's, but I prefer Norris.

I like real maple syrup but it is super expensive to get.

(I know it is long and difficult to make, so I understand the price)

Yep... I have a bottle around the house, but don't use it for pancakes or waffles. I will use it for cooking...
