Trump's Attorney Home Vandalized

Seeing that the other day it was prophesied that Senator Cassidy's home would be burned down and the suggestion of rope could factor in, a little spray paint with the word "Traitor" from a few doofuses probably not looking to take selfies, is pretty benign.

The prophesy may be a bit hyperbolic, but the anthill has definitely been kicked over down here.

Vandals smashed windows and spray-painted “TRAITOR” on the driveway of his suburban Philadelphia home Friday night, after he spent hours on the Senate floor hurling partisan invective and testily condemning the former president’s second impeachment trial as “constitutional cancel culture.”
More than some paint, apparently.
“The thing is, you guys don’t know me,” he told reporters. “I’m not a controversial guy. I’m not politically minded so to speak. I’m a trial lawyer and I represent people’s interests in court. ... And I’m disappointed that this is the result of just me doing my job.”
I remember when people were condemned for their criticism of attorneys defending alleged terrorists. After all, the lawyers were just doing their jobs. I guess some people don't deserve a defense.

I don't ever recall writing here or anywhere for that matter,"First, we kill all the lawyers". It's been written here on occasion and elsewhere, not just in Shakespeare's prose either. But never by me.
It's a real shame that he and family were threatened and their home vandalized. It's not right. It's unacceptable. But so are a lot other things when the current zeitgeist is to politicize everything and express uncontrolled outrage publicly. The outrage appears to be equally distributed among Jacobin and Reactionary alike. Hard to start a rational dialogue about issues when the two sides are blind and deaf to what they themselves are doing.

I think you're wrong.
As much as I detest lawyers - and I do - and as much as many on the Conservative side aren't big proponents of the profession, how many on the Right side of the scale have advicated or attacked lawyers in their homes? Or in the courthouse? How many times have Conservatives advocated for an end to due process?

Jolly, that's assuming that there are any real conservatives remaining on the right side of the aisle. Conservatism whether in North America or Europe, has in the last 20 or so years, morphed into a frightfully distasteful brand of reactionary politics. Having said that, the Left has incoherently radicalized itself through its identity politics, intolerance and, abandonment of the working person to name but a few of its myriad of faults. But as far as conservatives and conservatism goes, although I'm not at all sure, I am hopeful that the real ones are still there and will soon make their rational Burkian voices heard again to the benefit of us all.
Don't bother responding though. I have no desire to argue with you or anyone here about my stand on this or any issues I comment. The fact of the matter is that what I think and believe doesn't matter at all and, at the end of the day, I really don't care whether or not anyone shares my views or is outraged by my opinions or quips.
