    From LSBME today...

    Dear LSBME Licensees,
I recently spoke with Dr. Joe Kanter of the Louisiana Department of Health’s Public Health Office. He emphasized to me, and asked that I convey to you, that all health care providers and their support staff employees, are eligible for the COVID vaccine. You do not have to be affiliated with a hospital or clinic, and you do not have to be a certain age.

When you, and/or your employees, attend an appointment to get the vaccine, be sure to bring your medical license card identifying you as a Louisiana health care provider. If you are not a provider and you do not have an identifying workplace badge to show, then it’s suggested that you bring a note, perhaps on letterhead, from a physician or other administrator in your office, identifying you as an employee worker in that healthcare provider’s office.

Thank you for your attention to this matter and please stay safe and stay healthy!

    Dr. Vincent A. Culotta, Jr.
    Executive Director, LSBME

It is the case here too. But starting Monday I can make an appointment along with half of the state.

My problem will be the earliest appointment will likely be months out...
